POWER Engineers was selected as the engineering design firm for this greenfield medical office building. This new 36,000 sq. ft. office building was designed with steel moment-frame construction and a brick veneer exterior. POWER Engineers provided detailed engineering and construction support. Specifically, the POWER team provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the shell-and-core design phase. Multiple Tenant Improvement design document packages, including the build-out of 24 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, one phlebotomy lab, one x-ray room and eight doctor’s offices followed. POWER Engineers’ scope entailed shell-and-core structural calculations and design detail drawings; major mechanical systems sizing and selection and components related to the HVAC design; domestic water systems; complete snow melting design system for the north side of the building, canopies, and walkways; fire sprinkler protection system specifications; fire alarm and detection components; general arrangement; one-line diagram; lighting design; and short-circuit and load-flow studies to verify equipment configurations and ratings.
