POWER Engineers Adds Montana Firm in Second Acquisition This Year
HAILEY, IDAHO — POWER Engineers Inc. announced today it has acquired the assets of Advanced Power Solutions (APS) of Billings, Montana. APS provides consulting engineering services for electric utilities, primarily in the western U.S.
The acquisition is the second for POWER Engineers in less than six months. In January, POWER Engineers acquired the assets of T&D Engineering & Construction (TDEC), of Portland, Oregon, from Enron Engineering & Construction. POWER Engineers now has 600 employees in 11 office locations across the U.S.
Bill Eisinger, POWER’s Manager of Transmission & Distribution Engineering, cited a sharp growth in demand for new and upgraded electric power transmission and distribution facilities as the catalyst for his company’s recent growth.
APS staff will join POWER’s Transmission & Distribution Division, and will work from established offices in Billings and San Diego, California.
“APS is a great fit for POWER. The staff has expertise in cutting-edge technology that complements our current capabilities,” Eisinger said. “The top engineers worked for us before, so they know our methods and approach to projects.” APS principals Tim Ostermeier and Jay Keeling both worked for POWER Engineers during the 1990s before starting APS in 1998.
POWER Engineers, headquartered in Hailey, Idaho, is a leading provider of consulting engineering services to electric utilities, independent power producers, telecommunications providers and other industries, including high-tech manufacturing, food processing, health care and pulp and paper.
