Energy industry leaders gather at 3rd Annual Power Symposium
HAILEY, Idaho (April 19, 2018)–POWER Engineers, Inc. hosted its 3rd Annual Power Symposium in Weehawken, New Jersey today, featuring presentations and open dialogue with industry leaders and peers about issues affecting the energy sector.
Our Keynote speaker was Catherine Jereza, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transmission Permitting & Technical Assistance, U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability. Jezera shared her perspectives of the issues facing the evolution of the grid.
The symposium included many other talented speakers, including key leaders from The Brattle Group, MISO, ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM Interconnection, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, American Electric Power, Duke Energy, Westar Energy and Southern Company.
Key discussion topics included “The State of the Power Market,” “Energy Independence and Delivery: Resiliency, Reliability, and Security,” a panel discussion on ISO Challenges, “Key Trends Affecting Project Financing in the U.S. Power Market,” environmental challenges facing utilities, and a panel discussion on generation fuel mix from an investor-owned utility perspective.
With more than 170 guests in attendance including utilities, independent power producers, contractors, OEMs and financial institutions, this one-day symposium was full of lively interactive discussions on issues affecting the power industry.
